Starter Options – (5-10 mins)

  • Flash up Big Questions and/or Common Themes and/or Quotes

  • Introduce video-clip, distribute question(s) if required


Contribute further questions, respond to quotes.

What is Politics for? Is it about helping us or controlling us? Can I really make a difference?
Should Religion influence Politics? And vice versa?
Are all politicians corrupt? Is democracy best?



Common Themes:



Activities (10-20 mins)

  • Play video-clip eg Made in Dagenham

  • Introduce ‘Hot Topic’ eg Women in Politics, Occupy the City

  • Discuss Faith Perspective on Politics and Religion

In Group (or plenary):

  • explore responses to video

  • each group discusses 1 or 2 questions: one presents response
